          Florida’s rebates for homeowners is calculated at the rate of $4 per watt generated, up to a maximum of $20,000 per installation. So anyone installing a mid-range residential system generating 5kW would receive the full $20,000. For businesses, the rebate is the same $4 per watt, but with a maximum rebate of $100,000. Solar water heating systems receive a rebate of $500 per residential installation in addition to sales tax credits, and $15 per BTU up to a maximum rebate of $5,000 for businesses. Finally, solar thermal pool heaters receive a $100 rebate per installation. All of these rebates are of course in addition to the fundamental for installing these devices—once they’re operational, energy costs are dramatically reduced.
